Types of Faults

There are three types of faults. They are reverse faults, normal faults and strike-slip faults.
Normal Fault- Inclined fault where the hanging wall slips down and the footwall rises up.
Reverse Fault- A fault that the upward side is pushed up by compression.
Strike-Slip Fault- Where 2 sides of the fault slip by each other horizontally.
In Connecticut there is a Normal fault. Each of these faults are similar to a boundries. For example, normal faults are often associated with divergent boundries.
